LOS ANGELES, CA - The Executive Cabinet of the Clark County School District in Las Vegas, Nevada, is exploring the opportunities of entering into a partnership agreement with the non-profit R.E.I.S. Foundation of Los Angeles to implement the WBE.NET Global Internet Trade Course for Students at Las Vegas schools. Top executives of the Clark County School District met recently with Roosevelt Roby, founder of the R.E.I.S. Foundation and Chairman and CEO of the World Business Exchange Network (www.WBE.NET) at their Los Angeles headquarters and to tour Mid City Magnet Charter School, meet with its' Principal Dr. Clarence Clarkson, and Mr. Eugene Blunt, Magnet Coordinator, and students who are enrolled in the course.
"We are definitely interested in seeing this program implemented first hand. We found the course to be an impressive approach to learning, one that clearly has the potential to excite students about improving their core academic subjects as well as learning the fundamentals of economics through applied learning activities," said Kathleen Frosini, Director Career & Technical Education, Clark County School District.
"The R.E.I.S. Foundation is committed to preparing our youth for the future, to closing the digital divide in America and empowering all our students with real entrepreneurial training. Our mission is to provide an equal opportunity to all who strive for economic and personal success in life," said Mr. Roosevelt Roby, founder of the R.E.I.S. Foundation and Chairman and CEO of the World Business Exchange Network.
If Clark County School District moves forward with the partnership, the new WBE.NET international trade curriculum will enhance and compliment the District's current course offering entitled International Marketing. The WBE.NET course will delve deeper into international marketing and all the specifics of import/export trade with an Internet component, currently not taught at the school. The WBE.NET will serve as an elective course and will be offered for a full academic year in the Clark County School District.
The meeting was the result of a presentation made to the Clark County School Superintendent Carlos Garcia and the District's Executive Council, which displayed overwhelming enthusiasm for the program. Secretary of State Dean Heller, who interviewed Mr. Roby on a popular Nevada radio talk show, has given the WBE.NET Global Internet Trade Course for Students his endorsement and will present it to Governor of Nevada Kenny Quinn.
The WBE.NET Global Internet Trade Course for Students is currently being taught at the Los Angeles Unified School District and Grand Joint Union High School District in Sacramento. All proceeds generated by the students during the course goes directly to the school's scholarship program.
WBE.NET leverages international trade to its subscribers via access to its massive database of buyers and sellers of products from thousands of international businesses in hundreds of countries around the world. In addition the WBE.NET offers complete instruction on exporting, including a Training Manual & User Guide, detailed video and training.
