LOS ANGELES, CA South Bend Community School
Corporation in Indiana is exploring the opportunities of entering
into a partnership agreement with the non-profit R.E.I.S. Foundation
of Los Angeles to implement the WBE.NET Global Internet Trade Course
in their schools. Mr. W.W. Horsely, Assistant Superintendent, School
& Business Partnerships for the South Bend Community School
Corporation, along with Mrs. Wilmoth Horsely, a math teacher for
the district, met recently with Roosevelt Roby, founder of the R.E.I.S.
Foundation and Chairman and CEO of the World Business Exchange Network
(www.WBE.NET) at their Los Angeles headquarters and to tour King
Drew Magnet High School of Science and Medicine, and meet with students
who are enrolled in the course.
With todays economy, were looking
for viable options to help students earn a living. We found the
WBE.NET Global Internet Trade Course to be an excellent program
that motivates and excites the students. We are definitely interested
in seeing this program implemented first hand. We are currently
looking for a private corporate business sponsor to help us bring
this vital academic program to the South Bend Community School Corporation,
said Mr. W.W. Horsely. The R.E.I.S. Foundation is committed
to preparing our youth for the future, to closing the digital divide
in America and empowering all our students with real entrepreneurial
training. Our mission is to provide an equal opportunity to all
who strive for economic and personal success in life, said
Mr. Roby.
When South Bend Community School Corporation moves
forward with the partnership, the new WBE.NET international trade
curriculum will enhance the Junior Achievement pilot program as
an introduction course and add the specifics of import/export trade
with an Internet component, currently not taught at the school.
The WBE.NET program will serve as an elective course and will be
offered for a full academic year in the South Bend Community School
Corporation.
The meeting was the result of Mr. Horsely having
read about the World Business Exchange Network and the R.E.I.S.
Foundation in a newspaper article. He was so impressed, he took
it upon himself to visit the corporation in Los Angeles and meet
with students of the WBE.NET Global Internet Trade Course for Students
at King Drew Magnet High School of
Science and Medicine.
The WBE.NET Global Internet Trade Course for Students
is currently being taught at the Los Angeles Unified School District
and Grant Joint Union High School District in Sacramento. All proceeds
generated by the students during the course goes directly to the
schools scholarship program.
WBE.NET leverages international trade to its subscribers
via access to its massive database of buyers and sellers of products
from thousands of international businesses in hundreds of countries
around the world. In addition the WBE.NET offers complete instruction
on exporting, including a Training Manual & User Guide, detailed
video and training. The training is designed for ease of use, so
anyone who desires to own his or her own business and work from
home can become an export agent with the WBE.NET. This is a national
program in partnership with the Bush Administrations
Leave No Child Behind policy.
Subscribers are also taught about export strategy,
how to identify a money-making deal, market analysis, regulation,
customs benefits, tax incentives, cultural differences, letters
of credit, methods of payment, pricing and how to benefit from government
resources that will enhance business. Since developing the program,
thousands of entrepreneurs have
been able to launch successful home businesses as export agents.
The World Business Exchange Network, which was established
in 1993 as the first and only on-line tool to revolutionize the
import/export trade industry, is bolstered by partnership agreements
with the United States Department of Commerce, the United Nations
and countries all over the world. To learn more about starting a
business in international trade, contact the World Business Exchange
Network at 1-800-537-7347 or visit the Web site at www.WBE.NET.
